Tippecanoe and Ramblers Way Team Up

When you are out sailing in the spring or fall, and the weather is a bit cooler, it is time to outfit yourself with some of the Ramblers Way light wool garments that are so comfortable and exceptionally finely crafted. Standing by the pond can be a bit chilly when the wind picks up and the sailing gets exciting! Ramblers Way garments are lightweight but extremely warm. Wool retains the body heat in a way that no other natural fibers will do. Ramblers Way is a company that produces apparel crafted from superfine worsted Rambouillet wool and Pima cotton. This apparel is very thin, soft, warm, and is made sustainably in America.

It seems that everyone has heard the term "worsted wool", but very few people have any idea what worsted wool is and I don't think anyone has heard the word Rambouillet (except for sheep farmers)! So here is a bit of education about wool: most wools have fairly short fibers. The fibers are somewhat kinky and so stick together, but the ends of the fibers stick out of the threads to tickle, prick and poke! Not so with Rambuoillet worsted wool! Rambouillet is the name of a breed of sheep that is exceptional for having very long, soft hair. When these fibers are spun together, they produce a thread where all the fibers are lined up parallel to eachother with no fiber ends sticking out of the threads to tickle. These threads are more like silk threads than what one would normally think of as wool. The fabric woven from these threads is very strong, very light and very smooth-textured - you would not even suspect it was wool unless you were told. The fabric is absolutely beautiful and makes beautiful, warm but light and comfortable garments that will last for years.

These garments are woven with fabric that has a super high thread count!
