The T37 makes a beautiful display piece when it is not sailing. These boats are not only fast on the water, but they are designed to be treasured family possessions. Many of these boats should last through generations of sailing. One owner/builder told me after he bought one of our boats, "I just couldn't see passing on a plastic boat to my grandson!"
The T37 on the left with the black hull has the handlaid Honduras mahogany deck (available as the Veneer Deck Kit). The T37 to the right with the white hull has the standard deck. The deep keels make these boats very powerful for sailing in winds up to 25 mph. The large rudders make them very responsive and quick to turn and tack or jibe in any conditions. The cockpit and rudder port are completely sealed with a clear mylar so the boats can be sailed in waves one and two feet high. And of course the boats are completely self-righting. You can launch your boat upside down if you want to. It will flip right up and start sailing.
Ready to race! Happy Sailing!
There are a lot more T37 pictures on the page Owner's Pictures. These are great shots of T37's that owners have sent us. There are over 550 of the T37 Racing Sloops sailing now. The great majority have been built as kits. One group of adults at the Courageous Sailing Center in Boston assembled seven of the T37's. A group of seventh graders in Mount Vernon is currently building 10 of the T37's.
