The Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club Rendezvous. After the races, the Salmon Roast and Awards Ceremony.

And now the racing is done and the salmon has been cooking all afternoon. It is almost time to eat. This yacht club knows how to do things right. From the officer's uniforms and the canon sounding the salute at the raising of the flag, to the preparation of the amazing salmon. I've had a lot of salmon during the twenty plus years I've lived in the Pacific Northwest, and it has all been good, but this salmon cooked by Jack Keefe and his two pals, John Cronkhite and Finn Wollebek (a great Norwegian), was in a class all by itself. I know for a fact that I'll never have any salmon that tastes any better than what I ate that evening.

After dinner it's time for the trophies, the Wollebek, Keefe and Cronkhite Cups in recognition of thirty years of salmon roasting and club solidarity and good friendships. Hopefully Jack and his crew won't ever retire, because nobody can ever do salmon so well. Del closes out the awards ceremony. The next day everyone will sail for home.

What we'll remember most is the friendships we made and the friendships we saw between the members of this wonderful club. Thank you Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club for a wonderful time!!!

Happy Sailing!!
