Thailand!!

These stunning pictures came from Magnus in Thailand. He launched his first T37 on Christmas day, having completed the kit just in time. Now he is building his second T37 to race with his first. In the meantime he ordered a third T37 for his fleet and a fourth T37 for his neighbor. I hope we will get pictures of all four boats sailing together. The waterline stripe looks very smart in these pictures - a nice detail. It would be hard to find a more perfect setting for sailing the T37!

Magnus wrote during his project, "I have enjoyed every minute of the build. I'm impressed with the kit, everything from the epoxy to the deck strips is so generous in quantity and the instructions are great. It's almost like a tragedy coming when the boat will be finished, but then I have number 2."

Thank you Magnus. It has been such a pleasure working together and corresponding by e-mail. Your pictures and your comments have given me the greatest enjoyment. I wish I could visit you in Thailand, but having these pictures is about the next best thing - I can feel the wind blowing across the lake as the boat heels over and races along. If you ever get digital movies of the boats sailing, I'd love to add those as well. Happy Sailing, Will

The view from the deck. Magnus sent me this picture before his first boat was finished to give me an idea of where his boat would be sailing.

France!!

The T37 instructions have now been translated into French! Thanks to John Harkness and Francois. These two remote control T37's are their sailboats and they are holding an open sailing day to show the boats to other potential rc sailors with the idea of building a French Fleet for rc sailboat racing on this small lake near Cuzorn, France.

. The atmosphere of these pictures reminds me of a painting by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot from 1870, the Ville d'Avray.

Pennsylvania in the fall

These lovely pictures of the T37 rc sailboat amidst the Fall splendour of a day in Pennsylvania show that even when there is not a lot of wind, it's still fun to be sailing!

Minnesota and Chuck Cornell's T37 RC Sailboat

In our 24 years of building thousands of Tippecanoe Boats and sending them all over the world, one of my most heart-warming moments was when I received this framed picture from Chuck Cornell holding his T37 remote control sailboat that he built from our T37 rc kit. The idea that he would take the time to print and frame this large format photo as a gesture of his appreciation meant a great deal to me. I have hung the picture proudly alongside our Parent's Choice Gold Award Certificate that we won for our 15 inch Racing Sloop. Thanks very much, Chuck, for taking the time to do such a nice thing!

This is the picture in the frame.

And what a nice pond to sail in!

Thanks again Chuck! These pictures have given me great pleasure!

Massachusetts

Here's a fine looking yacht with a superb paint job by Robert Gimby of Massachusetts. Along with the pictures he sent this note,

"Hi Folks, Enclosed are some pictures of the "ARGYSNAUT" which I completed for my grandson Chris Argys. The boat was launched about three years ago and has been successfully sailed on lakes in Colorado as well as here on Cape Cod. I've just ordered another kit which I'll be assembling for my other grandson Nicholas."

Thanks for these great pictures and what a very striking and artistic paint job! This is the 18 inch T-Class Racing Sloop. There are now, as of this writing, 16,161 of the 18 inch T-Class sailing all over the world.

This letter arrived recently from Ecuador and confirmed that we now have Tippecanoe Boats sailing in 38 countries around the world!

"Indeed we live in Ecuador and will be sailing the T15 here, first in our pool at 3000 meters altitude and hopefully later on the shores of the Pacific, including perhaps the Galapagos as our next family adventure takes us there. Regards, Steven and Cecile"

Here are the countries where we have sent boats or heard from owners with Tippecanoe Boats:

China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Guam, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US (every state including Hawaii and Alaska), Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Aruba, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, England, Morocco, Balearic Islands, France, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and India!

And last, to finish this page, this charming and fun creation from Jeffry and Shanon to mark this past holiday season. Shannon rides aboard her T12 Racing Sloop in a winter dream about model sailboats. Jeffry just ordered a second T12 Racing Sloop so he and Shannon will have the two boats to sail together. They also sail a 22 foot sloop in Southern California.

Thanks Jeffry and Shannon!

Happy Sailing,

Will
